For dentists only ,earn points! help?

a year ago in a brawl i got my left Maxillary central incisor loose and now it is slightly different in color & strength ,so should i go for root canaling now as it was reccomended at that time by a senior dental surgeon?

  1. Not sure what you mean by the tooth being different in strength....how do you know how strong it is?

    Anyway, a change in color indicates that the tissue inside the tooth has died.  Iron from the blood vessels of the pulp leaches into the dentin and turns the tooth darker or greyer.  

    The tooth should be cold tested and x-rayed to determine if it is indeed dead.  If it is dead, then yes it should be rot canalled.  The X-ray may show some signs of abscess or root resorption.  You really need to have a dentist look at it and tell you what your options are.
