Question:

For dog and cat owners: keeping dog out of cat food?

My dog, a one year old lab, loves the cat food. It must taste amazing to her, because no matter what i do, she always finds a way to get to it. I live in a one bedroom apt, so there are not many options. I used to leave it out, but my poor cat would only get a meal at night cause that's the only time i can feed him so i can keep my dog away from it. So i tried something new, i put the food in the soft cat carrier, i'm not sure if the dog would just stick her head in there and eat it, or if she pawed at the dish before she got it, but still got it. Then i got one of those kitty igloos that have a front and back entrance and put it in front of the carrier. My dog picks it up (only way to explain it because i find it about 5 feet away from the carrier), moves it and goes into the soft carrier. I don't have a lot of cupboard space/counter space/bookshelf space to put the cat food up on. Plus since my dog is pretty big, i'm sure if i put the food up she would still get at it... and i'd rather have the food on the ground then have her pull a bookshelf on her. Anyone know of any products or anything that may help my situation. If all else fails i might have to just buy a giant kitty condo and put the food up there.

my kitchen is such a weird shape that i can't get a baby get in the opening, tried the extra wide ones too. I want to keep the food in a consistant place, so even though my bedroom has a normal size door, i want to leave the food in the kitchen/dining room.
