Many people commute to work, going in opposite and all directions. What if everyone just worked in the city or county in which they live, thereby reducing fuel consumption and emissions? If no jobs are available in your area of expertise, a) learn a new trade, b) start your business c) work virtually.

  1. Im sure tons of people would like to work in the city they live in But cant for whatever reason Usually because of not having jobs of expertice No one is going to go back to school and learn another trade for the purpose of traveling They spend so much time and money to get into the field of their choice So who would do that all over again because they have to travel so long to their career Now if its a job that you need no schooling for I could understand finding something closer to home But other than that Theres no point The environment would be so much better and cleaner if more people did that But it doesnt look like thats gonna happen

  2. I've worked from home for over 6 years.  I buy gas every 6 to 8 weeks.  Perhaps there should be tax credits for businesses that permit workers to telecommute.

  3. yes - and i do. fortunately my commute is ~15 minutes
