explain how he makes that team's offense better, best breakdown gets the points.

Green Bay is an obvious answer, but they don't seem willing to make him the starter, so make sure it's a team other than GB.

  1. Minnesota would be a great place for Favre, if you ruled out Green Bay.

The only question that Minnesota has is at QB. I'm picking the Vikings to make the Super Bowl if they land Favre.

Minnesota has some pretty good WRs in Berrian and Rice. They could both explode if Favre was throwing to them instead of Tarvaris Jackson.

  2. I would most like to see him land with the Vikings for fantasy purposes. MIN has a solid O-Line and right now maybe the best RB combination since Turner left San Diego. Favre would have some young talent at WR and he has always been fine with that. Having Favre at QB would keep D's honest so from a fantasy purpose, MIN would be able to put up a lot of points. They also have one of the best D's in the league this year so should be a strong playoff team with Favre.

Since you are going with Favre not playing with GB this year, it also should be noted that there is no way they willingly trade him to an NFC team, much less a division rival.....so my final answer would be NY Jets.

The Jets have one of the best young lines in the league right now, solid WR with Coles and Cotchery, Bubba Franks is there now as TE and good all around RB with TJones, Leon Washington, Jesse Chatman and Richardson as FB. Plus we would get to see Favre play New England at least twice.

  3. Allow me to preface my answer by saying Favre won't be traded to a team that is in a rebuilding year or a 100-to-1 shot to reach the Super Bowl. Let's agree that Favre wants to win a Super Bowl.

Let's also agree that the Green Bay Packers are not going to allow Brett to return to Lambeau Field wearing another team's colors. So, forget Minnesota, Chicago and Carolina.

That also eliminates the Atlanta Falcons, who travel to Green Bay in week #5 (apologies to Crash and his fine analysis).

With those caveats in place, the answer to your question is the Arizona Cardinals.

Forget Matt Leinart's collarbone. His fatal flaw is located above the neckline. Do you think Ken Whisenhunt wants to risk his coaching career on Hot Tub Harry's leadership qualities?

"But what about Kurt Warner?" you ask. Kurt wants another ring, too. He's spoken publically in support of Favre's desire to return. An older QB is a worry, but Arizona would have two old gunslingers to share the duties as needed.

So, why is Brett Favre arrival in Arizona a boon to fantasy football managers? He adds significant value to Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Edgerrin James.

Anquan Boldin is currently ranked #15 overall, behind Chad Johnson, Torry Holt and Plaxico Burress. With Favre, I put Anquan at #10 and move Larry Fitzgerald from #6 to #4 behind Moss, Owens and Wayne.

Edgerrin James is currently ranked #22 overall, behind Michael Turner and Ronnie Brown. I would move him up to #16 (Brandon Jacobs) or #17 Laurence Maroney. The Cardinals don't have a great rushing schedule with eight games vs. teams ranked 12th or better against the run last season. However, the NFC West isn't a strong division and I can't see Marc Bulger or Matt Hasselbeck running the tables this season.

If Favre doesn't go to Arizona, the Cardinals are a train wreck next season. James ages like milk, Leinert's Ryan Leaf impression causes season ticket holders to drown themselves in their hot tubs and Fitzgerald and Boldin red phone their agents for trades...to Cincinnati.

  4. Vikings.  Good o-line and a couple good receivers like Berrian that could really benefit from a decent QB.

  5. If a team has the second best HB in the game who can rush like crazy + a great offensive line who can run and pass block + some wide recievers as a threat wouldn't you want a QB who has done it all. So I say the Vikings. Not only will Farve be great but the rest of the team would because if all yoru offense is great the defense never knows what your gonna throw at you. They could run Play Action calls all day and then bomb it deep. Plus Farve has a friend who is a coordinator on Minnesota i think so he'll probably be in QB (doubtful), minnesota, or not playing at all (doubtful)

  6. Chargers all the way.

  7. To tell you the truth, the same case can be made for any of the noted hopefuls: Carolina, Minnesota, Chicago, Kansas City, NY Jets.

I'm going outside the box, because I doubt anyone will consider them, and I'm all about value:

    ATLANTA

Outside of Roddy White, and occasional flashes from Jerious Norwood, Atlanta is a wasteland of fantasy football.  Last refuge of the truly desperate...

It starts at the QB position, in the vacuum left by Michael Vick.

Even the defense is dreadful, in part because they are always on their heels, or tired... courtesy of an inept offense.

    Inject Favre...

Micheal Turner's value skyrockets.  Can't stack the box to stop Turner with Favre behind him.

Jerious Norwood becomes a viable consideration with his role as a change-of-pace or third down back.

Roddy White's value rises with a competent passer who can read a defense.

The law firm of Horn, Jenkins, Robinson & Douglas at wideout gets a big uptick.  They all go from worthless to at least bye week fill-ins.

Ben Hartsock (who!?) gets on the map at TE.  Favre likes the TE in the flat.

Even the DST, that often features Norwood is worthy of consideration.

Any team getting Favre will improve their starters across the board.  I'm looking at the Southern Boy goes full circle, back to where it all started.

    Cool question.
