For horse racing whats a good time for 220 yards and for the 550?

Anything under 11 seconds for a furlong is racehorse time, and 10 seconds or less is world-class racehorse time.

FWIW, several two-year-old Thoroughbreds in training have bettered the record given on this site for 220 yards.  During the "under tack" shows, the consignors will try to go all out, and the fastest horses have been clocked under 10 seconds.  I don't think that's official, but I believe it is accurate.
