  1. Kind of depends on two things.  Preferred style and gender.  Western is on the line of riding style and gear you've seen on western movies.  English is more formal, different type saddle and as for girls, they often learn to ride sidesaddle.

  2. ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. HORSEBACK RIDING IS NOT ENGLISH OR WESTERN,HORSE RIDING IS VERY OLD THING FROM EGYPTIAN ,AND GREEKS

  4. there's a "horn" on the western saddle and you only hold the reins with one hand. there's no horn on the english saddle and you hold the reins with two hands, one in each. that's pretty much the difference. i would say start out on western, and gradually get into english, too.

  5. What do you want to do?  If you want to play cowboy, ride Western.  If you want to be more sophisticated, ride English.

  6. Western, its a lot more fun.

English uses a lighter weight saddle. English riding is all about form and presentation.

Western riding is about working with the horse. Western riding comes from the cowboys who could not complete their job on the ranch without a good horse. Its about building a working relationship with the horse.
