For how long can I keep Cover girl lash blast?

I know that I specifically mentioned this mascara since I'm planning on buying this but generally, when exactly does mascara expire after opening? I'm asking because I've noticed that even if I do buy one, I won't be using it that often or frequently but only on some occasions which we hardly have over here. So can I keep it for years or something? How do I maintain? Thanks in advance.

Most mascaras are supposed to last three months. My mascaras tend to last longer than that, though. When mine start to get somewhat dry, instead of buying a new one (I get lazy), I just hold the closed tube underneath hot water for a couple minutes. Heating it up like that tends to prolong the life of it.

EW! NO! If you got it free out of a magazine it should not be kept over a month! If it is designer or any other maximum of 2 months!!

I through mine out every about 3 to 4 month i think any make up its only 6 months, but just thinking of bacteria of my face make me want to buy all new makeup again :) NOT years,no no,thats gross.

3 months is the max you should keep mascara, because its a breeding place for bacteria

Well if you check on the back of the pack you should see a small picture of an open tub with numbers on it they tand for the number of months i.e 6,12,24,36
