...do they charge it as a text message or as data?

i also wonder the same thing with the T-mobile wing, text or data?

and if so is there a program that uses texts instead?

Yahoo Istant messaging on ATT is charged as texting

for the rizr its charged as text messaging.

im not sure about the wing, but its probably data
