  1. The blower on most every dryer I've ever worked on has been mounted on the shaft of the motor opposite the end that drives the drum belt.  There certainly are bearings in the motor, one on each end, usually ball bearings.   If you're thinking about replacement, they don't get replaced, the motor gets replaced, if that's the problem.   If you're just getting a lot of noise and don't know where it's coming from, it's probably the blower wheel itself.  They have a flatted side on the mounting hole to help drive them and after years being jerked to get started turning, the flat wears out and then the blower shaft turns inside the blower, making a horrible racket.  A new blower wheel is the answer there.
