For mechanics that deal with chevy please help!!!!!!?

i have a chevy cobalt 2006 with the shift stick for a automatic in the center console. for weeks the trigger on the stick would stick and and the key would not come out till i fooled around with it now its stuck and the key wont come out i was able to get the key out with a button under the steering wheel but the button is stuck and the key position is not fully opp PLEASE HELP!!! I need an anwser as soon as possible because i work tommorrow thank you!!

you need to have the shifter replaced there's a solenoid on the bottom of the shifter that only comes with new shifter

the little detent or the cable inside the shifter is jammed. try to tap on it gentley unless you know how to take it apart. if you do get it to loosen up. try to spray some wd 40 in there till you get it to the dealer.
