I'm a little worried now that my daughter's first shots are coming up in a week. I decided to have her vaccinated but I'm questioning if I should do them all at once or a few at a time. I'm worried about the risks of giving so many shots to her at once... there are SO many! It's ridiculous!!!

  1. My baby just had his 6 month shots and now I feel anxious that they were too much at one time.. For peace of mind, next time I'm going to have them spaced out. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

  2. My two oldest are fully vaccinated and got all their shots on schedule.  My third baby had two reactions.  I don't know which shots caused those reactions because he got them all at once.  If you're going to vaccinate, do them one at a time.  Not only would that take a huge burden off her little body, but if she does have a reaction you'll know which vaccine caused it.

  3. First of all, it's a GOOD thing you're concerned.  I, personally do NOT believe in vaccinations, and not because of possible adverse reactions (though that is a good thing to worry about, just because the chance of having a reaction seems rare, do you want to take the risk that it's YOUR child to have that reaction?), but because of the poisons that the vaccines are full of.  Mercury (thimerasol), formaldehyde, chicken / cow / human cells, and several other heavy metals including aluminum are all in one or more of the vaccines that your child will receive.  I'm not saying that you should or shouldn't get your child vaccinated (though my Opinion is not to), you should have the right to an informed choice.  Check out this page, http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkboo... it is a page from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) showing the ingredients in the vaccines.

Do your research, and check your answers against other resources on the CDC page (since they are the ones who govern the vaccine industry), and here's why;  Example:  The CDC has stated that the amount of mercury in vaccines today can sometimes be comparable to nothing at all,  that they have <3mcg after production, and that they are perfectly safe to receive over and over.  But what about how they've ALWAYS said that NO level of highly poisonous mercury is safe??  The list will show you which vaccines have a "comparable to nothing" level of mercury by listing an asterick after the ingredient "thimerasol", but what about the vaccines that have thimerasol without an asterick?  How much mercury is REALLY in those??

Please inform yourself one way or another.  My answer will have many more "thumbs down" than "thumbs up", I know, but just because they disagree with me does NOT mean that I'm wrong.  Do your own investigating, and do what's best for YOU and YOURS!!

    Good Luck!!

  4. for all the billions of babies that have been vaccinated, how many have suffered from "all at once" vaccines?  go for it.

  5. I understand where you are coming from I hated the thought that my little baby would have to have the injections but it was the pain that they cause ie needle, then i looked at the bigger picture the vaccinations are for a reason that I would rather my child have the j**s then loose a arm or leg or sight from meningitis And I would have them give all the vaccinations at once so my baby would only be in pain for the short time than take them back again the next day or week or whatever to go through it again. I found it easier to get someone ( i would take me my mum) to hold my son while being given the j**s I wasnt even in the room for the 1st couple. At the 6wk j**s I heard him cry i would cry and same with the 12wks after that I was fine and able to take my sons myself good luck and millions of babies have the j**s around the world .

  6. When you go for the appointment tell the doctor you would rather the shots be spread out a little instead of so many at once. Doctors will usually be happy to accomodate this so there is only one or two at a time.  Sometimes there can be so many it's ridiculous. I asked them to split them up and just to a couple at a time because I felt it was too much at one time for him.  The doctor was fine with it and was more than happy to tell the attending nurse that day of my wishes and to put it in my sons file for future vaccinations that I want them spread out a little.

** i should also mention that the two I had spaced out were the MMR and Chicken Pox and I asked that those be spaced out one at a time and not at the same time on a single visit because those are pretty weighty shots. His boosters and the oral for rotavirus he did have all at once because it only equated to about 3 pokes.  If they do more than 3 I ask for them to space out a couple of them. :)

It also helps to take a chilled cloth for afterwards and a favorite soft toy to cuddle them with afterwards.  I find that tickling my son before he gets shots at the doctor helps him not scream and carry on so much when he gets them.

  7. I cried at her first round of shots. She screamed so loud. She had 2 in each thigh. Her face got so beet red. But she never had any adverse reactions. She was just sleepy for a while after. Cranky here & there for a few days. Same with her 4 month shots. They do it quick. It's better to get it over with I think.

  8. i have a 3 month old baby boy and he got his first set of shots a few wks ago. There are only 3 pricks and one oral vaccine they recieve. Yes i thought this was a lot too and many many misinformed ppl told me that the shots have been linked to causing diseases in children such as autism. This is untrue. autism is a genetic disease. The mother or father may have the gene but not neccesarily have the disorder but can pass it to there child. But anyways, its best to have the shots all done at once. They test these shots and have seen which ones can be given at the same time. Why put the child through the pain 2 times in a row when you can get that months shots done at once? But the shots all given to the child at once the child needs that mixture. its scarier to think of not giving the child the shots with all the diseases out there today. but i know how you feel i tilly tallied around with it thinking of wat to do until i decided to call around to different doctor offices and see if they all said same thing. and they did. the government and all the pediatricians asses are on the line they arent going to hurt your baby. Hope i helped and good luck if you do decide to get them done that will be a very hard day i had my mother go with me and she had to hold mine still while i stood in the corner and cried. lol. its rough but your baby needs these shots. good luck!

  9. She will be just fine.  They usually only do about 4 the first time.  My son had 3 shots and an oral one.  He screamed like I'd never heard him scream before but then he was just fine.  At worst, she will be a little fussy for a day or two or she will run a fever.

It's worse for you than for her - just remember that.  And just remember, it is for her own good down the line!

  10. I had them all done at once.  My children have been fine, no reaction or whatever to them.  I am pregnant and I will do the same with this baby.

  11. I was also worried about getting my son vaccinated, but he is up to date on his shots. The only shot I might wait on is his upcoming 12 month MMR shot as that is the one mostly associated with causing Autism.

  12. its funny you just asked this because i was about to ask a very similar question!

i had my son vaccinated for his 2 month shots... and he got 4 at once.  he'll get the next set in a couple weeks.  and since 2 month vaccinations, i have heard countless numbers of horror stories related to vaccines gone bad.  and now i'm soo afraid to get him his shots!!

but i'd say, for the most part, if your daughter is healthy, to just get them over with.  they suggest giving her tylenol before the shots to prevent pain, fever, inflammation, etc.  my son screamed for literally one second and then was perfectly fine after his shots.  it will hurt you more than it will hurt your daughter!

but either way, make sure you do your research to figure out which ones are mandatory and which ones aren't... they gave dylan the rotavirus vaccine and i thought it was mandatory and it wasnt, and i regret him getting it...

  13. My son is six months has had all vaccinations on time none delayed at all.

First set he was fussy, Second set no problem, This past third set didn't phase him in the least.

He never had a breakout, rash, fever, or any other reactions.

The link between autism and vaccines is not the case, a child's autsim was dormant until given the vaccine. I do not recommend getting the three in one shots though, get all shots separate it means more pokes, but the 3in1 has been linked to epilepsy.

  14. READ THE VACCINATION BOOK BY DR. SEARS!!  I'm a huge fan of his alternative schedule - not because of the risk of autism - but because of the high toxic chemicals found in almost all vaccines.

  15. My doctor offered a multi-shot that got 3 of them done at one time on my son's first shots. It really helped me out-- because I think the shots hurt me more than they did him seeing him get poked. But it's for the best! I would see if your pediatrician offers the multi-shot.

  16. Check out "The Vaccine Book" by Dr. Sears. It's a new book on the market and is an excellent read! It will discuss any question you could possibly have about vaccinations. I am following the advice in the book which advocates you space out the vaccinations over time. And it also tells you which shots are "must have" and which might not be as vital! It's very non-judgemental and allows you to make the decision as the parent!

If you're breastfeeding, I find that breastfeeding my daughter immediately after she gets a shot calms her down immediately.

    Good luck!

  17. The most they gave my child was 3 shots. Might as well get it over and done with.

If you do not want it to be done like that then tell them.

My son did well with his shots..Just give tylenol beforehand and afterwards.
