people tell me to lower it when I go downhill and I see people riding with their seats pretty high. Are your feet suppose to touch the ground.

  1. It's better to have it low for Downhill riding, keeps it out of the way as you will be standing most of the time. When riding slightly longer distances on flat tracks etc. it is easier to pedal sitting down with a higher seat.

If your seat post is quick release, rub some grease around your seatpost to make it easy to adjust whilst riding without damaging it etc. if you need an allen key to adjust it, you can do the same, but you will have to get off so it might be worth experimenting and finding a postion suitable for both in that case.

Personally, I leave my seat fairly low, I can touch the ground with my feet, it's fairly comfortable when riding long distances  and doesn't get in the way when I start going downhill.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Really it's all a matter of personal preference.

Just try it out at a few diffrent heights and see what you like best.

  3. Your toes are suppose to touch the ground. Your legs should be almost straight on the pedals.
