For music players, what does highs, mid, and lows mean?

For what genre is high/mid/low best for? I mainly listen to pop and music with some bass, or just overall good. the description of these headphones i was looking at said, brilliant highs and good bass. I just want to make sure it fits my music the best as im looking to buy top-notch headphones

  1. They are to describe your frequency ranges. Bass is the low thuds and highs are singing and everything else is in the middle.....well more or less. These headphones should be fine for pop but what you really should do is go to guitar center and get some professional headphones


  2. Highs are any sounds that are high pitched, such as notes and junk. Lows are the things like bass, booms, anything low sounding. Mids are the in between point. there probably is more complicated answer, but this is as simple as I can put it

  3. Highs are your tweeters. They put out a crisp high frequency, high pitched sound like the symbol of the drum kit. The lows are the larger speakers or sub-woofer, they handle the bass and other lower pitched frequencies or sounds.
