  1. It sounds like the image wasn't big enough. Try uploading a good quality, larger image - meaning larger width and height dimensions - that's in JPEG format under 250KB in file size. You can try to increase the size of the image that you attempted to use, but if it's too small, the result may be blurry.

It's impossible to upload an image that will fit all screen resolutions, but at least you can upload one that fits yours. A good basis is to try to get an image that's a least 1200 pixels wide (or slightly more) by 2100 pixels in height. This is going to be a trial and error sort of thing. I use images that are already that size, called background or wallpaper images.

    RE-SIZING:

Microsoft Paint is on most Windows computers with Microsoft software in the Accessories programs section.

    - Open Paint, then open the image file from within Paint.

    - Click on the Image Menu and choose "Attributes."

    - RE-SIZE: Adjust the pixel width and length. OR use "stretch and skew" and just reduce the percentage.

    - Go to the File menu and Save As. Choose the JPEG option in the file type dropdown after you click Save As. A pop-up window will ask about quality, you can increase it or lower it (to help fit under the file size specifications).

    LARGE IMAGES:

See http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2006/12/... for a directory of wallpaper sites. You can also search for images via keyword searches on Google at http://images.google.com . On the upper left after you begin searching, choose Extra Large images as a filter. Right-click on the image and choose "Save Image As" or something similar to save an image to your hard drive. Another site is Photobucket (http://photobucket.com ).

When you get the image that you need, upload the image as a single background image and choose to tile it. You may need to lower resolution, crop, and make other size adjustments get it under 360 specifications by using a photo editor like Microsoft Paint or Photoshop, preferably. You can get it to be one image on the Top Page, but the number of breaks in the Blog area is dependent on the amount of the content. You don't have to tile the image, but your page background color will be important in that case.
