  1. Ok, I've got one. The general idea is to make some sort of animal out of it, like a turtle, snail or armadillo; something with a round body.

Take the front and back covers and bend them all the way back as if to make an "A". You'll have to use something on the bottom to hold the covers in place, maybe make a base out of cardboard. Then put small holes in each page, maybe not quite as big as a hole punch, but enough to get pipe cleaners through. The holes should be on the edge of the pages, like 3 hole punch paper. Feed the pipe cleaners through each page so the pages are standing up fanned out. You might have to put some holes in the middle of the pages and run pipe cleaners through the middle so the pages don't collapse. You could even have more pages bunched together in some spots for texture.

Anyway the whole idea is to fan the pages out in a way that creates a round form. Then add feet and a head that's like the animal you want. You could make them out of paper mache. The head could be coming out of the "A' part, like a turtle's head.

Also, before doing all this I would paint the book and pages the color of the animal. For example, use green for a turtle and maybe darker green pipe cleaners for contrast.

Another idea would be to still do the fanned out pages, but lay the covers flat out on a piece of cardboard or something that can support the weight of a book. Then you could make a drawing or painting around the book of an animal, say a whale or dolphin. Then the book part would be the part of the animal that is sticking up above the water line and your painting would be of the rest of the animal under water.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!!
