  1. New York---Manhattan

    California--Beverly Hills

  2. LA - one area that nobody has mentioned Pacific Palisades!  Lots of grand homes and the rich folk who love them.

NYC the richest neighborhood is the upper east side.  Outside NYC Long Island is rich folk land.

  3. LA:

    Beverly Hills

    Malibu

    Most of it's pretty crappy

    Skid Row

  4. Holmby Hills in Los Angeles. It's part of the "Golden Triangle" and it's where you can find the Playboy Mansion and the Spelling Mansion.

  5. I don't know NY, but in L.A.:

    Malibu.

Bel Aire (don't just say Beverly Hills, because it's so cliche, and also, thereare bad parts of town, believe it or not, below Santa Monica Blvd. - Same with most of Hollywood - mostly pretty disgusting... Probably glamorous in the 1940's, but sure as h**l not now).

    Hollywood Hills.

Hollywood, above Sunset (which actually is the base of the Hollywood Hills).

    San Marino area in Pasadena.

Santa Barbara is 90 miles above L.A., but it's a much richer area, overall, and it's the escape and playground of a lot of rich people & entertainment industry types) in L.A. because it's just a couple hours away, and it's beautiful.

There are a lot more though, but my fingers are getting tired.

  6. In NY, a "classic six" pre-war apartment on Park Avenue.
