For my parents, I should be usinf affidavit of support form I- 134 or I- 864? I am US citizen?

I am US citizen, I filed petition for my parents a few months ago and petition is approved but I am not sure which form to apply and where it should be sent.

  1. If your petition is already approved, why are you sending in an affidavit now?  Regardless, the I-864 is used for family based immigration petitions.  I recommend that you contact the USCIS Service Center that is assigned to your parents' case.


  2. If your parents are outside of the US, you'll be contacted by the National Visa Center in New Hampshire and told what to do, once they receive your petitions from USCIS for your parents. All immigrant visas are sent there from the USCIS service centers, once they have been approved. From there they go out to the various embassies overseas. So, hang tight and wait for instructions. However, you will need to do the I-864 affidavit of support, and you'll need 3 years of tax returns to go with them, so start getting your paperwork together now.
