For my party, other then having a gift table what can I use to put gifts?

I know it is not mandatory for the party but i want to have a place to put gifts.. I dont want a table because it takes too much place. (this is at a party hall) . A friend was telling me about having a decoration box or just a big nice bag. Any ideas? and where to put it?

have a table - it's a bit rude to have your guests put their gifts in a box or bag after they spent time wrapping them nicely.  A small table in the corner won't take up too much space surely?
