1. Acer. I have been using Acer for the past 3 years and it has less problems actually. the interface is cool and their help support team is really helpful. price wise.. the acer that i got was much cheaper than a toshiba.

  2. Toshiba is one of the best all around laptops. Given what you wish, I would suggest a Dual Core processor with 1-2GB RAM. You might be able to look around and find something like that for 500, but it will most likely run at around 600-700. The computer itself has little affect on the internet... You're going to need to upgrade for something fast.

Recommended ISP's (Internet Service Providers): Verizon (FiOS if you can afford it), AT&T, Comcast

**When I say 1-2GB RAM, I assume you are going to be smart and keep using Windows XP. If you are going to use Vista, then you will need to have 2-3GB at the least, or you can get Vista Premium 64-bit and get as much as 4GB (LIGHTNING!!).

  3. toshiba is really good

expecially this one. Check it out at Best Buy

    Toshiba Satelite A305-S6837

Intel Core 2 duo processer T5550

    4096 MB PCS DDR2 SDRAm

    320 GB (5400 RPM) Hdd

this computer is very very fast.
