Question:

For neurosurgery, is it possible to complete 7 years of residency in about 3 years.?

why does it HAVE to require so much time?....oh and do you get paid during residency time?...

  1. get a time machine, alter the space time continuum, go back and forth between time frames and places and make things go ultra fast...

    course you'll have to learn the physics of it and crack the impossible question which no one has...tht'll take much longer than 7 years

    so stick to neurosugery

    in my opinion, if you're going to cut up someone's brain, you better be d**n perfect about it...


  2. Would YOU want someone with less than half the recommended training cracking open YOUR skull?  C'mon.

    YES, it requires the WHOLE residency, and that's 80 hrs a week (more if they can get away with it) of hard work.

    Yes, you get paid, but not very much, and you have to start paying back your college and med school loans at that time.  No more deferments.

    People with your attitude do NOT make it into a NS residency, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

  3. No it's not possible.  Yes you get paid.  It takes that long to learn one of the most difficult fields in all of medicine.
