Question:

For parents of adopted children whom are 18 or older now &?

whose birth parents have made contact with the child you have raised through adoption.What have you seen in the experence on how the adopted person handled it & how did you handle it?( Sorry not to sure how to word it..)Has it helped or hurt. Thank you.

  1. I am not personally involved in a situation like this but one of my good friends and my sister-in-law are adopted.  They are both adults though.  Both of them and their parents were fine, and even a little excited.  I am not sure if you are a child or a parent.  I think that would make a big difference.


  2. My very good friend and his twin sister were adopted as older children and looked up their parent [father unknown] when they was in his 20s. He said it was a totally horrible experience. His sister was in therapy for years.

    Perhaps the best way to handle this is to go through a course of counseling before you are reunited.
