For people living in Ireland to answer.

My friend, Lil, is of Chinese, Pakistan and Irish descent. She is working on a project and has invited some people that she knows from Ireland to participate. It would only take 30 minutes of their time to do the project and doesn't cost them anything.

Lil is from usa.

The people from Ireland saw the materials and documents which Lil sent.Lil laid out everything for them. They only asked 1 question and it was 2 months later.

The question was mildly asked to find out what Lil's intent was without making themselves look stupid, vain and selfish.

The question really made them look selfish, vain and stupid which shocked her. Because Lil never had that impression of them.

Lil was pissed privately and wondered if they were asking this because she is of Asian descent. Meaning, they were treating her like

a criminal because she is Asian.

Do you think the people in Ireland would do this?

  1. I'm Irish, and in my local community there are many foreign-nationals, and we treat them as we would treat anyone. Race, backround shouldn't matter, we have no right to judge people. BUT, as in every country, there are nasty, ignorant people who are racist, but Irish should not be judged based on a single bad experience with some bad people. I hope her opinion of my country will change, and in my opinion she would be warmly welcome here.

  2. no because, i think most the Irish people are very welcoming to foreigners.

but there are still people that arent welcoming, i think thats because Ireland isnt used to diversity

  3. You never told us what the question was and what the consensus was from Ireland?

Does Lil really exist - she has a very chequered history?

Irish people are generally unselfish, not vain and stupid - perhaps their replies reflected their feelings about the questionnaire!

Let us know what the question was and broadly what the Irish answers were. Without that information how can we make a judgement?

  4. I have a black friend who visited Ireland on a stag do and was turned away from a booked venue. His white friends who were already inside had to speak to the bouncers to get them to let him and his black friends in. Needless to say he doesn't like the Irish much and wouldn't visit the country again.

  5. If someone sends me an e-mail asking me questions then yes I will want to know what it is for. Did you ever stop to consider that perhaps the reason for them asking was because they thought knowing might help them give a more detailed and hopeful answer.

The Irish are like every other nation some are nice and some are not.
