I just got my oil changed recently and there is a message that comes up that tells you when you need to change the oil. I thought that when I got the oil changed that it would reset the sensor on it's own but, I guess not. It's still beeping at me telling me the oil needs to be changed. Does anyone know how to reset this, it's driving me crazy?

  1. Turn the ignition key to RUN with the engine off.

Fully press the release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. Several beeps sound. This confirms the oil life system has been reset.

If the CHANGE/OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the engine oil life system has not been reset. Repeat the procedure.

  2. go back to oil changer and have them do it...i know its a pain in the ***

  3. On most GM cars and trucks if you turn the ignition to run but dont start the engine and push the gas pedal to the floor three times it will reset.

  4. On some models you can reset the warning light thru the radio.
