I just started college and I'm taking a philosophy class this semester. Every week were assigned to read several pages out of our textbooks. This first week I have to read Works and Days and Theogony by Hesiod. I understood Works and Days but

THEOGONY is just IMPOSSIBLE...

I know every professor and school is different...but were you required to know every child and parent and who bore who...? It's literally impossible for me to memorize all of this in a week.

I'm afraid my professor gives us a pop quiz and expects me to know all of these children...

Help. Do you know any websites that organizes all of this...who had who?

  1. Patience is the best way. Websites can't over ride printed books. If you fadeup with the textual theory, webpages can't help.If one not having patience, should't opt for philosophy.

  2. education is only useful if you can use them. concentrate on the key points. forget the names, they are useless. professors won't ask them, and if he does, drop the class. don't bother wasting your time and energy.

  3. Ask your professor what to expect in the quiz!  I took many philosophy and literature courses in college and never encountered quizzes that focused on all the little facts and details.  Of course you may have come across that type of teacher in this course but I would bet that what you need to focus on in the Hesiod is the main ideas and themes and not all of the names.
