I have a lazy eye, and its hard to have to live with this for the rest of my life. I did not treat it when i had a chance as a child, and now its too late. I am very self cousious when i am out in public and I wear sun glasses most of the time. I don't like to be the girls who stands out because of a lazy eye, I rather stand out because I have the prettiest eyes, but i know that won't happen. I can walk around like it doesn't bother me when people look at me, but it really does, it always has, and it will continue. Do any of you people that suffer from lazy eye feel the same? I don't want pitty from anyone, I am just letting it all out. When I go out with friends and we see guys that are to my like, it makes me feel so ugly, because i am the only short girl and i do need to loose some weight and to top it all i have this eye thing. Well I would like to hear of anyone going throught the same thing if you guys care to share with me your story nadd how you feel about this.

  1. Hi, I am 37 and mine was never corrected as a child because I would not wear my glasses or patch. My eye tends to go inwards when im tired, but when I am wearing my glasses or contacts in the day, my eye is straight. I know how difficult this is for you, im not sure how old you are, but I would say to you, go to your gp and asked about `vision therapy`.

My good eye prescription is +5.50 I dont know about my lazy eye because it doesnt work.

    Lazy eye also called 'Amblyopia'.

As a younger adult I was very upset about the condition, which was made worse because I am lead to believe that (apparently)there is no affective treatment for adult. I started to learn to live with it for many years, until recently because I have began to worry more now as I approach my 40's because I dont know what is going to happen to my sight. So I have been trying to find some more information about Amblyopia, but all I am finding at the moment is `Amblyopia in children` Dont give up.

    Good luck.

  2. I would recommend you consult an ophthalmologist. They will be able to advise you on your options, which at this point may only be surgical correction. ( any guy who would over look a nice girl who happens to have a lazy eye isn't worth your time.)  Just be yourself, the more you try to conceal it may actually have the reverse affect by drawing attention to it.
