When it is a female controller do you guys immediately make some sort or sexual comment to each other?

For female pilots there is always one or two sexual related humorous comments on our end.

Im a trainee Aircraft Engineer and while im not a pilot i do know that the aviation industry is a highly regulated industry and any such comments will be reported. Yes i know the sun newspaper showed a Pilot touching a up Flight Attendant. The chances are this could have been fake news as newspapers do like to make a good story even if its not true. In the unlikely event that this is real footage then it was a one off and such behavior does not happen across the board in this industry.

Nice question Bucky.  I'd have to say that most male pilots are guilty, that said, the FO and Tom is right.  There are a lot of female controllers out there and only so many jokes.  Normally you have better things to do.  I will say, however, that if their voice sounds over the top, it is hard to resist since the mind starts to wander.  I once had a stuck mike after asking my bud if he thought she was hot or just ate cheetos all day.  We cancelled d**n quick.

Every time I've ever been on an airplane, the pilots never joked (in that manner) with a female traffic controller.  Any GOOD pilot's going to be concerned with other air traffic and getting the  aircraft on the ground safely.

Unless of course that pilots name is Glenn Quagmire (from Family Guy). :D

Generally it never gets any worse than "I bet she's hot"

There are actually a great deal of female controllers.  If we made comments about every one of them that would be all we have time to do.  So generally, no we don't even notice most of the time.

Aviation is becoming more and more gender neutral.  Its not as much of a "boys' club" as it used to be, though men still significantly outnumber women in the cockpit.  That won't be true forever though.

I once heard a Southwest crew check on like this:  "Good Morning LA Center, Southwest 1234 Level Three-nine-oh.  I like your shoes, any chance of going direct to Panhandle?"  The controller was obviously a female.

It didn't work.

Flying and talking with ATC is a professional skill. That means although humor does exist, its not usually sexually oriented towards someone just becasue they are of the opposite s*x. If a person is flying, or working ATC, then they have had the training and are skilled enough to hold that position

I for one have never made a sexual comment about a female air traffic controller.

Airline pilots are professionals and have 'way too much else to think about.  Sexual stuff in the airplane is really rare, and it always was.

In my experience, people who give too much attention to those subjects are quickly re-directed to other career fields.
