For runners: how long does it take you to run 3 miles straight?

Hi. I have been running for 5 years and I am only a freshman in high school. My 3 mile time is 15:42. I hope to improve to 15:00. If you are interested in running long distances, try it. It will be one of the funnest things you will ever do.

Depends on your speed, time yourself and find out, my guess is about 8:30 on each mile. about 25 minutes

Are you asking me personally? I am a pinguin. I have good days and bad days. I am pushing 50 and I am happy just to be around 8:50 per mile but most of the time I am around 9 minutes per mile. I just run because I feel like running.

Mid 17's when I am in peak condition.

24 minutes on the average run.

About half an hour on a slow recovery day.

I recently did my first 5k race --- it was for charity at my school I got like 17:40 ish...... not  really a long distance runner more of a middle distance
