  1. "Adreline"?

    Adrenal fluid?

--Happens on very few flights.  As when low on fuel and approaching in bad weather.  The safety and security is there so routinely that it is easy to become lulled into complacence.

Mistakes happen for all kinds of reasons:  misinformation, miscommunication, lack of recent practice, tiredness, poor training, and fatigue are some causes.

  2. 1. The "adrenaline jolt" is long in your past by the time you become a professional pilot.

    2.  Under normal circumstances, there is no danger in any part of any scheduled flight.

Sorry, but you asked for the opinion of professionals, and that's it.

  3. Most people think the landing is the most dangerous segment, but the takeoff has more potential for disaster. You are low, full of fuel, near urban areas, etc.

Now aircraft carriers are different. Coming in at night, poor weather, on a pitching carrier deck has got to be more exciting than combat.

  4. The biggest adrenaline jolt is during the taxi ride to the hotel in some of the places we have to go.
