I am trying to land all my doubles consistantley, I can land them and I have a really good technique I always get around to backwards, I use lots of speed when I go into the jumps, get really good height I don't wrap my leg when I'm rotating, and I have a nice tight in air postion but keep falling or I touch down with my free leg. If anyone here lands their doubles or triples consistantly can you tell me what goes through your head when you're trying to land. My coaches have said that it is mostly in my head and that I don't trust myself to land. Please please please help, my hips and butt are constantley bruised and swollen.

  1. don't think about it at all! whenever i think too hard about a jump i don't land it!

  2. What I think is that I hope to land it and technique is very important so I also think about them. Just keep tight until you touch the ice then land I am trying my double axel and rotation is hard. That's really good technique just keep practicing. Same I fall cause it takes along time to get jumps consistant.

  3. act like you are doing a toe-loop after it so you push out it really works trust me

  4. I think you need to land on the right edge .

  5. When you expect to fall, you keep falling.  Expect to land.  Stand up straight in your jump and fight fight fight to land.  If you are touching down with the free leg, hold up that knee in the free leg and sharply pull back the leg for the landing.  Think of gliding back.  Not falling back.

  6. my mind seriously goes blank. i don't think ahead for jumps only live in the moment. but hey, it works.

  7. well if i'm all the way around like you say then just really check out and exaggerating the left arm being in front to stop rotation. free leg checks up and out close to the leg and doesn't swing around. that's all =)
