  1. here is what you do.

Start cooking and eating more vegetarain food.

Gradually replace animals foods for vegetarian foods

Than when you are ready stop eating all animal foods

You must eat lots of grains, beans, vegetables, and fresh fruits.

to be healthy cut out the junk food.

  2. yes dear....its a good thought go ahead...

  3. YES!! Do it :D

ignore the idiot, its not a sin.

  4. It's great that you're interested in going veg!

Vegetarian diets are healthy when they include a variety of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains. The American Dietetic Association is one of the nation's leading nutrition experts. It states that vegetarians have “lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; … lower blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer” and that vegetarians are less likely than meat-eaters to be obese. http://eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs....

  5. It's a great start.

Our bodies were NOT meant to eat meat.

Vegetables, although can have benefits. are not that necessary in our diet.

fruits, nuts, grains and legumes are the healthiest sources of food we can get. NOT only will they keep you at your correct weight, BUT you can never overeat in this diet.

People like to try to point out that nuts especially have a lot of fats and cholesterol. This is true, HOWEVER, it's the good fats and the good cholesterol. It's the fats your body needs to sustain itself. You can get more good protein out of beans and nuts than you can with meat.

Also quit all "white" foods. no refined sugar, bleached flour,

white rice. these are the most unhealthy foods for you.

  6. The best way to be healthy?

    Not necessarily.

It's a good way to go though, if you can handle it. You seem willing and able so why not try it on for size.

Just remember to incorporate other foods into your diet to ensure proper nutrition. Especially proteins. In other words legumes and what not.

    It'll be great!

    Good luck.

  7. B.B. to eat meat or not is something only you can decide , But you should take into account that meat has many protein's the body and hair needs,

Alternative to being healthy is eating small portions of foods not cutting them out ,

Have you ever really look at a person whom is a vegetarian? they look hungry , and have a yellowish coloring to their skin due to lack of necessary nutrients.

but as i said it is your choice , Just eliminate Pork very bad for system.

  8. I've been feeling the same way lately.I feel so sorry for the poor things.I can't understand how some religions slit their throats.Lately I can't even kill spiders because I think they should be entitled to live.Go vegetarian if you want, just make sure you eat a lot of beans and mushrooms for protein.cheers

  9. there is no best way, there is just the way that works, eating meat or not doesn't guarantee health, eating the right food helps but still will not make you inately healthy, health is gained not given.

    eat right

    get plenty of exercise

    plenty of rest

    and mental stimulation

that is how you get healthy!

  10. dont do it. vegetarianism is a sin.

  11. 101% best way.

  12. It's ok for you to feel this, and if you have a hard time at first; it's completely normal.

For one, there's a thing called Tofu. Believe it or not, you can use that as a substitute for meat.

If you like burgers, try Boca(in case you're clueless, here's a link to the site; http://www.bocaburger.com/)

If you're thinking of doing this though, you've really got to do your research.

If you're thinking of getting out of Milk as well, try Soy Milk, or Rice Milk. Both are replacements.

Hope that helps you, and good luck!

  13. well you have to eat something. if you can't or won't meat, then the only other option is pretty obvious isn't it?

the presence of this forum and the number of adherents to the  lifestyle that post here should tell you that eating plant foods exclusively is not only doable, but if done correctly, healthy as well.

  14. Good girl!

Animals are not on this earth for human pleasure

  15. I've been a vegetarian for a very long time. I understand how you feel. It seems alien to me to eat meat. I think some of us are just not inclined to eat meat at all. I've never even liked it and I don't miss it one bit.

If you use Yahoo to do a search, you will find thousands of websites which have lists of good healthy foods.

  16. Go for it. Just be sure to get enough protein some other way. When I decided to stop eating meat, I got really anemic and had to take lots of iron every day or else I got really weak.

  17. Check out Vegitarian Times for good recipies that will give you what you need.  Take a good vitamin suppliment.

TO the guy above.  We have devleoped as omnivores.  We have canine teeth desinged for eating meat.  Our stomaches have hormones designed to break down meat and our intestines are nowhere near like any completely vegitarian animal.  We can survive very well on a veggie diet - but we have to pay attention becasue we are naturally built to eat just about everything that isn't poisenous.
