Would you pay to help install a renewable energy project like geothermal, solarthermal, tidal or other similar?

Also, please comment on baseload power, set up cost versus ongoing costs as much as you like:)

  1. I do pay a small additional fee to my utility to support wind power.  There are opportunities like that for many people.  Or they could install individual systems at their home.

  2. What do you mean by help pay - like in taxes?

  3. No, climate change is just a myth, global weather works in patterns. It would be a waste of money to try to do something that is so pointless

  4. I already pay a voluntary extra fee with my utility provider so that my power comes from clean energy.

When I built my house 11 years ago, I looked into a geothermal heat pump. At the time, I wasn't concerned about AGW and they were a fairly new technology.  I ended up not doing it.  If I built again, I'd definitely install one.  Given todays interest rates and electricity rates, the amount of money saved on monthly utilities would more than cover the extra up front costs tacked onto a mortgage loan.
