For teachers, if you saw your student with paint spraycans how would you react?

I`d have a quiet word with them and ask them what they wre doing with them.  Quite a lot of my students are into legal graffiti and there is a local graffiti wall which they use.  I`d have a little chat to see what they were doing and just to check they were doing things legally. I`d remind them about the legalities if they were doing something they shouldn`t be.  i`d also offer to look after the bag of spray cans for the day so they didn`t get into trouble (or cause problems) in school. Then I`d ask them to photograph on their phones what they had done and to show me when they had finished.

i would take it away from them and ask them what they really want to use it for and then probably give them a substitute, like putting newspaper on the wall and giving them paintbrushes to mess around with.

If I could, I`d grab it out of their bag and then dump it.

I would ask him/her if they were in art class (is so I would talk to art teacher) and if not then I would report them to the assistant principal.  

Is there any reason to have spray cans at school other than graffiti?
