I'm trying to phone a department within an office building and the phone number is (123) 222-0546 and it also says local: 3331 beside it. Does that mean I dial (123) 222-3331?

  1. Not likely.  Did you try?  It probably means that is the local extension number on the phone system if you are dialing from within their office building.
