I wasn't sure if I have to sign up for this or if it is automatically kept track of for me. But I don't think this was Red Cross, it was The Big Red Bus. Do they do this too? I feel good about this if you can't tell.

  1. The Big Red Bus is likely affiliated with the American Red Cross. The nurses that are staffed at those rallies are certified in handling blood donations. And as others have pointed out yes you can request a card to track the progress of your donations.

Its great that you are on-board with spreading the word. ARC needs motivated public to get out and create/publicize blood drives. I hope you've signed up on their website. That's the best way to be in touch.

More ways of donating blood are showing up all the time. So you may waiting 8 weeks is normal for whole blood donations, but others could be sooner.

I've included a link to an article regarding the benefits of males donating blood on a regular basis.

  2. I believe they issue you a card; and you present that card each time you donate.  That's how they keep track of how much you've given over time.

  3. Yes, they keep track, but they will usually give you a card and mark on it each time that you donate. You may need to request the card. At a 1/2 pint every eight weeks, it will be awhile before you can claim your coffee cup.
