For the AFC, I'm going with my hometown team, the San Diego Chargers. For the NFC, I'm going with the New York Giants.

  1. The Chargers will have the most dangerous D of all the NFL this season.

They have the best CB, LB, and NT in the game and they have 2 other Pro Bowlers (Castillo and Phillips) on that defense.  Jammer was never a shutdown corner, but he is probably the best #2 CB in all the league now.

Igor Olshansky is a MONSTER in the 3-4 and the ILB situation, while shakey, has alot of potential fixes.  Safeties Clinton Hart and Eric Weddle are an upgrade over Hart and McCree from last season (when the Bolts were the best secondary in the league already).

The best NFC Defense is the Cowboys.  Wade Phillips can put together a 3-4 Defense like no other active coach (or D coordinator) in all of the NFL (Chargers' Ted Cottrell included).  Having a MONSTER like D Ware on your team is only going to help you.  The secondary has been stacked for years and that front seven improves with every season.  If the Cowboys are healthy, the Giants (close second since no Strahan) wont be as close to the top of the heap as I see them now.

  2. I like my man D-Ware..Be-Ware of D-Ware!!!

    Go Demarcus #92!!!

  3. im going with the giants pass- rush defense from last year. On the AFC, hmmmmm Ravens!!!!

  4. The Bucaneers? Lollllllllllllllllllll. Afc-Ravens Nfc-Cowboys. No question. Depth in all positon. L-backers Zach Thomas D-ware and greg ellis. CB-Pacman, Terence Newman, Anthony Henry

S-Ken Hamlin and Roy Williams( even though Roy is REALLLLY overrated he cant freaking catch play pass defense)

    DT-Marcus spears and chris canty.

  5. Buccaneers. You better watch out for them. Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks are getting old so they are going to pour it out this year, Jermaine Phillips will knock out 10 wide receivers, They also have youngsters in Aquib Talib and Tanard Jackson that will both get 5 picks this season. There defensive line is full of beasts and Cato June and Barret Ruud are just monsters.

  6. Watch out for the Bears.  Their D line could well be the most dominant unit in football.  With Tommie Harris turning into a premier lineman, Alex Brown coming off a great year, a strong rotation of young studs like Dvoracek and Tounia this group will wreak havoc in opponents backfields.

The linebackers of Briggs, Urlacher, and Hillenmeyer are still the best corps in football, and if Mike Brown stays healthy watch out.

  7. Gotta go with the Cowboys who have at least one Pro Bowler at D-Line, Linebacker, and in the Secondary. Do not sleep on the Raiders D this year. Tommy Kelley is back from injury, Derrick Burgess is still good, Kirk Morrison is gonna have a breakout year, and the Secondary with DeAngelo Hall, Nnamdi Asomouagh, Gibril Wilson, and Mike Huff moving to his natural Free Safety position is the best in the league along with the Cowboys. and im out

  8. for the afc, watch out for the chargers, for the nfc definitely the bucs (thats a sleeper pick tho) for the obvious one, vikings...giants lost strahan and their starting middle linebacker and safety, i don't think the will be the same defense anymore

  9. AFC- Chargers

    NFC- Vikings

  10. Minnesota Vikings are currently ranked #1 in defense: especially with the addition of Jared Allen. The fact that no one is even paying attention; that's what will make them dangerous!
