  1. could be..or we just wanted to have a unique name for the group.

  2. i like the Spore's one YASSER...sounds like YES SIR....typical of sporeans...being yes people....never say no.....LOL

  3. yelpers. i think your right .i bounce back and fourth between yap! and yam! i think they are most popular.

  4. Judging from the number of questions and answers, those groups are the most active in the Asia Pacific sections you mentioned.

  5. Jaimee,  you're probably on to something.

Where are these Yaccers, Yainders, Yajjers, Yakkers, Yamaldivers, Yassers, Yatters, and Yathers?   They should speak up!  It is not only their God-given right.   It is their DUTY!

I am an outspoken Yapper.  And there may be a counterpart Yammer.  What if either one of us gets too far?   Who would douse the fire?  It should be the entire community that should knock our heads off!  And bring us to the peace table,  with all sorts of delicacies and drinks from China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Maldives, Singapore, Taiwan and Siam.  These drinks and chow should be enough to stuff our mouths shut, and entice us to get more outspoken in the future so that more chow and drinks are forthcoming!

As to the last question, and sorry for your other two that didn't make it, could only mean YAP and YAM are only expressing our delight at being more American than Americans, and more British than the Brits!

Or, I could be entirely wrong.  We are both from Malay stock.  Perhaps,  just too proud of this same vein.  Hahahahahaha!

  6. No.  It means that these 2 countries are the only creative ones that thought of calling their users as such and the actions as yapping or yamming.

  7. it just shows how creative Filipinos and Malaysians are... ain't it?

  8. If you consider the most active participants  in YA , check the LB  global overall. you'll see that Philippines and Malaysia are  way way behind;  the so-called  Yapper and yammer  has nothing to  do with being active..besides, not all  participants wish to be called a Yapper. I am a YA contributor but I  don't want to be called "Yapper", whatever that means. It has no real/valuable meaning to  me.  If you take the literal meaning of Yap- , the dictionary says:

    yap, yap·ping, yaps.

    v.intr.

       1. To bark sharply or shrilly; yelp.

       2. Slang. To talk noisily or stupidly; jabber.

    v.tr.

    To utter by yapping.

       1. A sharp, shrill bark; a yelp.

       2. Slang. Noisy, stupid talk; jabber.

       3. Slang. The mouth: Shut your yap.

       4. Slang. A stupid, crude, or loud person.

So, there..that's the reason why I don't like to  consider/call myself a "yapper".

  9. ....mixture of most-active + addicted + daily responsibilities (lol)...and a bit of fanatic as well....

  10. lol...maybe can suggest to them this idea

  11. most probably...

  12. no,we just love naming things. =)

  13. Yeap...truly agree with yaya...

YAMMERS is what we call ourself in the Malaysia travel section..

Combination of hot & spicy, evil-delicious, super-addictive & mental therapy..

come and join us..feel the sensational YA section ever..trust me, once you are there, you just dont want to go out!!!

    lol
