For the Air Force BMT, will there be any sort of swimming that trainees will have to do and required to do?

pssh, because I cant swim! and I want to join the air force real bad.

  1. I've only had a BMT from Subway and that usually takes a lot of prep work because the people at Subway are so slow these days.


  2. I was there once.  When I was there we didn't have to swim at all.  But that was 9 years ago.

  3. Oh no!  I talked to the Navy recruiter and I was all set to join until he told me about the swim test.

    I'm in the AF as a result.  I made the right choice.

  4. There wasn't in 1971 I don't think there is now either. but a lot has changed.

  5. No there is no swimming. But any real concerns or questions that you may have should be given to your recruiter. Thank you for wanting to serve!

  6. learn to swim now, every soldier must can swim.

  7. Only if you fall into a water hazard on the confidence course.  There are some jobs that require swimming skills such as pararescue, but there is no swimming requirement in BMTS.
