Time for a post match autopsy!

Lets start from the back - First i'd make sure Wilkie and Dodds have met and both have ever played at the back before today as neither looked the case last night! Dillon and granger did there job well and werent caught too often unlike the center two.

Midfield Flood had his usuall workrate but at times his passing was poor as was Gomis and Buaben these two are a bit to lightweght for me and were easily out fought and outworked by the accies midfield. Which is more than i can say for S.Robertson who I didnt really know he was on the park until around the 60th min when he fouled someone.

Up front CL gambled with an untried partnership and it didnt even look like working no-one held the ball up athough utd resorted to route one in the first half we missed hunt more than i thought we would. These two may come good but we needed to be out of the blocks quickly CL often gambles and this is often a sign of a good manager. didna work though

In short i'd change to a 4-5-1 Formation (CL wont do this) and include Swanson in the midfield I'd also at least start with Sandza up front he looked a player and ditch any idea's of ever letting Lee wilkie play up front even in desperation just bring on an extra stiker god knows we have enough........ your thoughts?

  1. i was surprised at o'donovan starting last night and never seen anything from him up til he was subbed.  sandaza isnae fit and won't be starting games, swanson seems purely an impact player, dods has been shaky since the new year and now CL signing four strikers over the close season seems to have missed the gaping hole in our central defence.

i would give the big boy kovacevic a game.  but how do you replace an entire back four?  (grainger was only the best of abad lot.)

i would disagree about robertson, him and zaluska were the only two in the team i would give anywhere near pass marks to.

Overall, we still have a good squad, but the players must realise they won't get third just cos all the papers say they will, they have to work hard.

  2. We were shocking at the back and it was thanks to Zaluska it was only 3. I need to disagree with you about Dillon, he had a terrible 1st half, probably the worst I've ever seen him play for us, the whole defence seemed nervous fae start to finish. The whole team seemed aff the bile, it was only when Swanson & Sandaza came on we looked like scoring.

Swanson won't start many games this season though, Levein views him as more of an impact player but I do think we'll see more of him than last season, cracking wee player. Once Sandaza gets some match fitness I reckon him and Feeney will be our regular strikers. No sure about playing 4-5-1 though, Conway and O'Donovan on the wings or something?

    ...and yer right...Wilkie isn't a striker!!!
