For the Louvre's structure, which part of it is the west wing?

Here is a map to help you answer my question. I am researching the Louvre and it says that Pierre Lescot built the west wing, but I am unsure which part of the Louvre that is.

  1. The western part does not exist anymore - It has been destroyed in 1871, at the time of the Commune Revolution

    It was the Residence of the king before the construction of Versailles and this from Philippe Auguste at the middle ages -

    After 1871 it was partly the location of the Ministery of Budget

    and partly a huge Museum - Budget left the place which still enabled to enlarge the Museum


  2. "The Louvre" is a district of Paris, not a museum.  It has no west wing.  Maybe the museum there once did.
