For the Palm Centro can you set a ringtone for each person so when they message you it will play that one?

Yes, but you may need another program to do it. If you want to use your voice you can record a voice memo and use it when they messenge. If you want a song or something from an mp3 file you will need a seperate program. Ringo pro is a good program but it is 30 bucks. You can use it to assign mp3 ringtones  to calls and messages. Mini Tones is a free program that does something similar and allows you to edit (crop) tones. The only problem with minitones is that it saves to your internal memory not to your sd card so it might take up space.
