For the People who think Wilt was Better Than Jordan?

Question

There are many things that can be named which attributed to Wilt's astronomical numbers

- No 3 second Rule (Meaning he can stand under the paint all day, wait for a pass, and take as long as he wants to score)

- No Zone Defense - (Defenses were played Man to Man, so there was no jamming the middle to stop a drive)

- Chamberlain himself ( Wilt was bout 7 ft., could bench about 500 lbs, and run like a horse.. No one in the NBA was even close to his athleticsm)

- No Over the Back Fouls (Wilt could reach over whoever was GOING to get the rebound and take it away, and since he was bigger and could jump higher than almost everyone, this was easy)

- He Didnt Care about Winning (When you dont care about your teams win-loss record, or championships, then that means you only care about your personal gain.. In Wilt's case, he led the league in assists just to prove he could do it all... And He always wanted to break his OWN records)

Now, those are some of the reasons for Wilt's Dominance, but lets take a look at Jordan's side of the spectrum

- Hand Checking ( This was allowed when Jordan played, meaning he had to take forearms and elbows whenever he touched the ball... Players today dont have to worry about that, if Jordan could go without this, he could put up better numbers than he did)

- The NBA (WHenever someone talks about Jordan, they say the NBA was watered down in the 90s.....WOW.. Biggest Lie... The players of the 90s were in the top 3 of all of the NBA decades.... Maybe No.1.. You had the countless big men who im sure any of you can name, you had Grant Hill when he was effective, you had stockton, payton, and a host other SG's and PG's who I dont have room to name because I have other points to list)

- Triangle Offense (The triangle wasnt meant for Jordan to be the only option... So for those of you who say he only won because of Pippen, you're wrong, he just needed a good enough player to complete the offense and Pippen did that wonderfully..kinda how Gasol fit in witht he triangle in LA so good, Pippen did it better...Not taking nothing away from Pippen, He was one of the best of all time, but the triangle spread the offense around therefore Jordan either scored when he was open or when the situation called for him to score)

- Championships (As Chamberlain learned, you dont win championships worrying about your stats.. You win them when you take hits and sacrifices to your game for the good of the team, and Jordan did that 6 times, could have been more had the dynasty stayed together)

So can you please stop with all the Jordan-Bashing, Its pointless... If you're going to say Jordan is nothing without Pippen, what does that make Wilt? He wouldnt have won a title without West...and that other guy he played with who I forget but he was a legendary player too lol... Wilt basically only won on Dream Teams... Jordan is the best ever.. and please no one say Kobe because that would just be dumb

If you read about him, then you must know they changed rules to go against him. No alley oops, no dunks, and you can't jump from the free throw line to dunk.

I still think Jordan is the best, but I haven't seen Wilt play.

1) Wilt is the greatest offensive force the NBA has ever seen (Jordan was great, but didn't compare to Wilt offensively before he started to decline).

2) Jordan is the greatest overall player ever (Had the best of both worlds, won a lot, plus many individual talents/awards)

3) Kobe isn't as great as Jordan, but it would be very stupid to say that he hasn't accomplished anything in the NBA (don't use the argument Kobe hasn't won with Shaq because Jordan never won without Pippen either).

None of those players were in their prime during this era, everyone was either just starting or getting ready to retire. Utah was the only team to come close to defeating Chicago.

Knicks along with Rockets had medicore players who always seem to loose in the playoffs except when MJ retired.

2 totally different players and 2 totally different positions.

do you think MJ could of played center and handled the likes of Hakeem,Shaq,Ewing or Kareem?No he'd of been knocked down and out muscled. wilt could have never guarded him on the perimeter because MJ would have blown by him. you're comparing apples to oranges man.

now if you were to compare Kobe to MJ then you have 2 similar players who play the same position.

two 3 peats and 6 final MVPs, and was 10 time scoring champ

and was DPOY. I know he was good at both ends of the floor.

Russell was not as complete, he did not have a scoring title

to go along with his Defense.

If you've ever seen Wilt play, which I doubt you have, have you ever seen Jordan play. He runs into people while doing a ridiculous layup and gets an and1. And every one on his team passed to him. Rodman, Pippen, and Kerr. I'm not saying Jordan sucks, but Wilt is way better.

jordan also played in a time where zone wasn't as common and there wasn't much if any double teaming off the ball against jordan because it was illegal at the time.

and yes kobe is definatly not the best ever but jordan isnt either.  magic or wilt or russell could be called the best ever.
