  1. Good question. I've said that about myself, when the question comes from an obvious teen. Normally my motto is Think young, be young.

My favorite "young/old" musician or artist would be Carlos Santana. Favorite young/old group, The Doobie Brothers

  2. I'm not really a person who can say that "old" is a specific age.  I think it's just a point in life where your mental state has maybe progressed to a different, more "mature" place.  The age of an old person...if I really had to say, I couldn't say anything more than a ballpark.

MQ: CCR, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Anka

  3. The first time I heard “Peggy Sue”

    I was 12 years old

    Russians up in rocket ships

    And the war was cold

Now many wars have come and gone

    Genocide still goes on

    Buddy Holly still goes on

    But his catalog was sold

    First time I smoked

    Guess what - paranoid

    First time I heard “Satisfaction”

    I was young and unemployed

    Down the decades every year

Summer leaves and my birthday’s here

And all my friends stand up and cheer

    And say Man you’re old

    Getting old

    Old

    Getting old

We celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas day

And Buddha found nirvana along the lotus way

About 1,500 years ago the messenger Mohammed spoke

And his wisdom like a river flowed

    Through hills of gold

    Wisdom is old

    The Koran is old

    The Bible’s old

    Greatest story ever told

    Disagreements?

    Work ’em out

The human race has walked the earth for 2.7 million

And we estimate the universe at 13-14 billion

When all these numbers tumble into your imagination

Consider that the Lord was there before creation

    God is old

    We’re not old

    God is old

    He made the mold

    -Paul Simon

Honestly, I'm 30 and I feel pretty old in here. I'm a big "old is how you feel, not your age" type of person though.

    ***********

for the record I'm not a religious person, but I just think that is a really neat song.

  4. Well... My friends think I'm old because I'm six months older than them, but I think old is a mental state. If you feel old, you are old!

MQ: I guess The Who is old... I don't want to offend anybody though... Black Sabbath is another good one.

  5. Hmm, I guess 60+, but it's all relative isn't it?

As for old musicians and artists... I like:

    Elvis Presley

    Frank Sinatra

    Spike Jones

    Johnny Cash

    The Rolling Stones

  6. Well, in music terms I guess it's 40ish

    Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin

  7. IT DEPENDS ON THE PERSON, EG. TO A FIVE-YEAR-OLD A 12-YEAR-OLD IS REALLY OLD, AND TO A 20-YEAR-OLD A 45-YEAR-OLD IS REALLY OLD....

    METALICCA

  8. I'm not sure why they say they're old when they're obviously not. I'd say above 55.

MQ: How about a band? Pink Floyd.

  9. About 40 years old or so. The Who is my favorite OLD band.

  10. you're only as old as you feel

    MQ-Frank Sinatra

  11. Gee Jester, Thanks.

I'm 41 but I don't think I'll hit the Shady Pines Nursing Home just yet.

  12. on this site- out of college is old... because i feel old on here sometimes and i am 25.

    real world- over 50 maybe...

    MA: tom waits

  13. 60 + is old to me.

    MQ: Mick Jagger

  14. When you worry about your last bowel movement, you get up at 4 AM because you want to, you like soup for supper, you groan and f**t when you get up, supper is at 4 PM, and you use the term 'fixed income' when you need to spend money.

And Social Security is your direct deposit paycheck.

  15. haha at my age, people over forty seem very old.

But hey, us kids don't know any better right ? ;)

MQ: Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy

  16. 50+ to me is old.

    Pink Floyd or Black Sabbath

  17. 45+?

    MA: Eric Clapton

  18. When you're old enough to know better about a question that doesn't need answering.Seriously..it shouldn't matter how 'old' you are. I could say Bob Dylan..when I was a kid I couldn't stand him..the voice, the seemingly out-of-tune harmonica, the words of which I had no inkling, till it hit me one day..I was 53 or something and discovered "Love and Theft".Blew my head off.I understood it all...I was a great Neville Brothers fan,but still 'ignored' the writing, only the way the guys sang it...I backtracked and bought all that I liked...which is a few records! I've got a few records, tapes and CDs..A-Z..so to speak..Keeps me occupied..Spirit's LP catalogue to Stevie Ray Vaugh/Albert King's live take of "Stormy Monday" to Magazine live from a pub in the Western Suburbs of Sydney etc etc...I guess I'll end this ramble with Charley Patton...he'd be 100+ years if he was still alive.

  19. I don't consider many people old, I think if you act old you are old. So using that logic, I could consider a 15 year old 'old' or a 60 year old 'not old' depending on what they're like.

MQ: (I don't consider him old but most people do) Chuck Berry

  20. Well I've met some 20-somethings that seem very very old and I've met some 50+ that still act like they are 21!!!  So really it's all about perception and how you feel...I think it's more about how you act rather than your actual physical age.

MA: Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana

  21. 50+

    Slash !!

  22. i consider somebody "old" when they hit a certain point where they spend a lot of time talking about what medications they're on, or how to eat more calcium to help their fragile bones, or how they're investing for a high-quality walker. that type of thing.

now. old music is a little younger then that. my favorite "old" musician/artist are the Rolling Stones. now, i don't consider Mick and the gand "old". some 65 year olds are old! but they are definitely not old! see, it's not an age thing, it's a behavioral thing.

  23. beyond 50

  24. I just turned a healthy 33 two weeks ago, I might not be in my 20's anymore, but I'm not gonna let my age prevent me from anything, it's just a number. I would say 65 plus.

I gave everyone a Thumbs Up out of respect.

    MQ: David Gilmour- 62

  25. 65 and older. (Senior Citizens)

    Paul McCartney

    Mick Jagger

  26. Where you stand on this depends on where you sit.

I'm 40. To a 20 yr old, I may be old. To an 85 year old, I'm young.

  27. My father said old is always 25 years plus your present age so I'm sticking with that.

    MA:  Jon Lord

  28. Every age is old i mean

you get "older" every hour every day

    you dont get "younger"
