For the SAT, what novels can I read to strengthen my vocabulary before the test?

In preparation for the SAT, a lot of people have suggested reading literature (other than SAT prep books) in order to learn vocabulary in context or give examples that i might be able to use in the SAT essay. Can anyone recommend some specific novels (difficult is fine, and I don't mind what genre) that i could read? (preferably quality literature rather than a bunch of big words...)Thanks so much, I just need a break from flash-cards and Barons...

  2. Read a bunch of different ones... different genres... doesn't matter what book.. or you can buy the official guide for the SAT

try FreeRice.com.... it'll help with vocab.

  3. Don Quixote, Moby d**k, Brave New World, Call of the Wild, Animal Farm, 2001: A Space Odyssey,

    Voltair's Candide, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Dante's Inferno,

I could keep going, but here's a website with plenty to choose from

enjoy - there's so much great literature out there - of course it's surrounded by a lot of junk - so good luck

  4. I HIGHLY  recommend Pride and Prejudiced.  I'm reading it right now and I get atleast 2 words I didn't know per page.  It's kinda hard to follow along but if you're just in it to get words then it's perfect.

  5. Test Of Time
