For the Water Polo Players, Fun Question?

Ok, so, on my team, when we have a brutal player on the opposing team, who is, quite frankly a b****, i get put on them, since i'm willing to be mean like that back. I am a clean player, unless you start it :-)

So, i'm out of ideas to bother people and be brutal back, and need some creative ones.

Tell me an idea, or a story of your favorite time you PO'ed someone, or had it done to you, and tell me what the ref did, lol.

I need a laugh, since my jaw is bruised badly from this girl (who got an offensive kickout for what she did to it), and any good wp story is welcome.

  1. say really obvious/random things to her. you won't be acting weird but she'll get confused.

    "which way are you playing?"

    "i'm not wearing underwear"

    "look (pointing), a sea tractor"

    or straight out... "i'm wet"

  2. practice your acting.  I was at this big tournament a while back and there was this guy on this team that got two of our players 3 ejections each, removing them from the game.  The funny thing was, not a single time was it a legitimate ejection.  what you do is you practice swimming just behind them and suddenly you stop yourself, throw your head back, splash yourself in the face (without the ref seeing your hand) and grab your jaw or something.  (you are trying to make it look like he kicked you in the face).  at one point, one of our players just decided to swim with his feet out of the water so that the ref would not call anything on him.  my team has never been so pissed off. haha

another thing you can do is instead of grabbing someone's suit, stick your entire arm into it.  for example, you are guarding some one at set and instead of grabbing one of their straps, just stick your entire arm through it.  that pisses people off ;-)

  3. I went to high school in the late 70's and back then there was only a boys team and the few girls that wanted to play joined the boys.  There were only a hand full of girls in the entire league and none on the Clayton Valley High School team.  The first time we played a team with a girl on the squad a few players on our team did not take her very serious and two of our players found out the hard way she meant business.  They decided to play a little touchy feely under the water and when she punched the first guy the ref did not see it.  The second guy that copped a feel got punched very hard and everybody saw her jack him up right in front of the ref who ejected her from the game but after our coach explained what happened she was allowed back in the game.  She stole the ball from me at half court and almost scored a breakaway goal but I caught her and stole the ball back.  We had a few big bruisers on our team but they were not dirty players and when we came across a dirty player we would put our best actor on him and fake a few fouls to get him kicked out of the game and it worked quite often.  I stole the ball four times from the same player in the same game and he was so PO'ed he lost his temper and started throwing punches and elbows at any player within reach which ended his play for not only that game but the rest of the tournament.
