How many of you help your wife with the house hold chores. Like cooking and cleaning up? How often do you do it? What do you do? Or do you hire somebody?

  1. I agree with the first answer!! If he doesn't do his part I don't bring home the bacon!!!! Hahahahaha

  2. I work my a..ss off for 12hrs a day in work................... cleaning is the other halfs job!

  3. We both do jobs in the household. Unfortunately because I am at home more than my husband, the bulk is my problem. And I dislike doing it. I would rather work in the garden!  My husband has from the very first day, been responsible for the dishes, and I for the washing.  The rest gets done when it has to be done by whoever gets around to doing it.  Unfortunately we have the heaviest shedding dogs in the world, and one hour after vacuuming and wiping the floor, it can look like it had not been done for days.

Cooking, we both do. My husband is fully qualified in all aspects of the hotel trade, chef included, so he really enjoys cooking, especially meat dishes. Suits me fine, because I prefer vegetables.  And braaiing is, of course, man´s work.

If I could afford it, I would employ a cleaner twice a week.  But, that will remain a dream!

  4. I'm single at the moment but when with any girlfriend, I do nearly all the cooking and we share the rest. It also depends on if one of us has a day off or is away on business etc.

  5. I do, and i found out that a whole day wont be enough cleaning the whole house. . . and the funny thing is i learned how to cook dishes beyond what i know, i learned that a housewife's work is never done. Everyday's a tiring day, you learn to be systematic and manage your time to the fullest.

  6. Weekends it is my privilege to braai for the family In the week I am ashamed to say I am not much help,But I do pay for the maid,Just hire a Zimbabwean for R10 a day,lol

  7. My wife and I work out.We have two children .I have more time at home than my wife so I cook at least five evening meals .By the way I have lived alone for my years so my domestic skills are pretty good.I am the type that does not leave any thing for tomorrow.I would wash and put away the dishes no matter how late it is.I am the first one to get up so I want the kitchen clean. My morning starts with a mug of tea. My children share the chores too.Where I live one has to be very  rich to hire some one.The average wage for a domestic help is over  R.70.00 and hour (HOUR)

  8. We have a maid and a garden boy, some times we have 2 maids. My husband works his butt off and does not help me much, but if I ask him to help he is always eager and willing and will ask me if he can help me. He is not a lazy guy just a very hard worker.

  9. I have an almost perfect relationship made in heaven. There is no such thing as his or her duty or responsibility. We are friends, lovers, co-workers, confidantes and accept whatever mood the other is in. We both do everything in the house. It depends on who feels like doing what. We normally work together when it comes to house cleaning but it does not have to be. I might start washing the windows and he will start vacuuming without us even agreeing on who does what when and where. I might do both while he feels like lazing around which does not faze me in the least…or visa versa. It just comes all so naturally. There are never any huffs and puffs over things that need to be done in the house. As long as it is clean then everything is fine. I might say for instance, ‘my darling, I wanted to vacuum but I just don’t feel like it’ and he would either say ‘not a problem I’ll do it’ or ‘let’s leave it till tomorrow….come here’ Or he might say S**t the car needs to be cleaned but I am so tired I feel like taking a nap’ and I’ll say, ‘well take your nap my darling, I’ll get the car done’

He loves to cook, and I am the last person that will stop him. He cooks more often than I do...I think. Sometimes we make our meals separately. Some of his German food is not for me. Whoever wakes up in the morning first prepares the percoloater and makes coffee.

I could never live in a relationship where a man believes certain chores are mine and others are his. If he wants to share a life with me we share and share alike.
