  1. the term average is not well used here. I don't understand if you mean average as in athleticism, average in age, average in boxing skills because for all of them it varies.

    if you are average in any of those areas, then dedicated yourself to learn longer than few months, the idea is not to run any kind of risks if you want to practice the sport.  


  2. In general, you are not ready for your first competition until you can spar for 3 heavy rounds. Some people take months while others can may take a whole year. There is no need to rush since you can always compete with fighters in your own gym.

  3. for amateur boxing  I recommend to start sparing after 2 months of training and competition after 4 months.
