Well as they say "beer before liquor, never been sicker.  Liquor before beer, you're in the clear".  But, I don't really know how accurate that is.  I always seem to drink the beer before.

That saying is true. I've done both. You don't want to drink liquor after unless it's just a shot or two

Beer is best used as a chaser for your morning coffee, and it enhances any cold pizza breakfast.

Save the Port for after dinner. Serve with dark chocolate.

Then go back to the beer, unless you've got a bottle of good cognac laying around...

If vomit is the desired effect either way will suffice.   You would be better off not drinking at all.

It depends on what "effect" you are looking for.

For maximum flavor appreciation, I would recommend beer then Port. Port is so strong and overpowering that going from it to beer will leave nearly all beers tasting flat and lifeless (unless you're talking about something like Sam Adams Triple Bock or Avery Samael).

For maximum drunk go from Port to Port. Or if you can't handle going straight into Port, try 1 beer then Port, then Port, then Port.
