  1. 1)

    x = 3y + 1

    0 = -x + 3y + 1

    -x + 3y + 1 = 0

    => A = -1, B=3 and C=1

    2)

    x = 6

    x - 6 = 0

    x + 0y - 6 = 0

    => A=1, B=0 and C=-6

    3)

    y = x

    y - x = 0

    -x + y = 0

    -x + y + 0 = 0

    => A=-1, B=1 and C=0

  2. if you ahve a graphing calc press Math then zero then put the equation in. use diff numbers for A, B and C until one equals zero.

    or

    do it the old fashion way and just plug numbers in

  3. 1) x-3y-1=0

    a=1, b=-3, c=-1

    2)  x-6=0

    a=1, b=0, c=-1

    3) y-x=0

    a=-1, b=1, c=0

  4. 1) x = 3y + 1

    x - 3y - 1 = 0    (-3y - 1 for both sides)

    A = 1; B = -3; C = -1

    2) x = 6

    x + 0y = 6

    x + 0y - 6 = 0

    A = 1; B = 0 ; C = -6

    3) y = x

    - x + y = 0      (substract x both sides)

    - x + y + 0 = 0

    A = -1;  B = 1; C = 0

    Done!
