ive been getting pain in my arms, from the shoulder down to the joint at my elbow. I dont think its how i sleep cos sometimes when im in bed at night i start to feel it ache and know it will be really sore the next day. It used to be in my right arm but recently it has been in my left or both. It happens every 2-3 weeks and lasts for about 24 hours or so. painkillers dont really work but when i play sports during this period, it seems to go (or i dont notice it). I lift quite heavy objects at work but ive been in my job over 2 years and it hasnt happned before. My doc said it could be muscle ache/pain - in both arms tho? i had chest pains a month ago and had a heart scan and there was no problem there. Any suggestions? Its more an annoyance than anything else but im sure its not my job thats to blame- its not a shooting pain just more of an ache that really hurts when i move my arm - Any help?

  1. I have the same problem with my right shoulder, for several days in any given month, it will ache and the pain increases as I move it around.

You should get checked out for arthritis, regardless of your age! There are several different kinds, and it is not always just limited to old people!

Another possibility could be bone spurs or bone fragments caught in the joint, when these fragment align just right, that's when the pain starts.
