  1. There are many vocations that you wonder why people want such an assignment.  However, regarding this election as in everything else, the motive or intent is of value to the individual.  I suppose one may want to make a difference for Americans, qualified decision maker, or entitlement, prestige, respect, or payroll.

Now, if I could be a CEO for the gas companies, I would give my all for the MONEY, despite the fact that Americans heartache is gas.  No, I'm just kidding.  I Just wanted to give an example of what enthralls people to vie for jobs.  In other words, we all have our reasons.

  2. i dont know who your talking about

  3. EGO and power..

I think democrats ( like Clinton) get off on the power and feeds their ego when they succeed as president

while republicans are strictly businesspeople looking to exploit the govt for huge finacial gain

  4. They are not just two but many came as contestants for the post and these two are the filtered to final and  they are after the job for the rewards and the fame they could get! So the challenge they face is small than the challenge now posed to the real, honest, law abiding, dutiful AMERICANS TO select the one who could give the results to give the rewards and the fame of the Presidency to the right man !

  5. it makes me wonder too.  i think the reason is they strongly believe in their ability to lead, a desire for power, helping other people (hopefully), and their vision of the future.  the pay is less than ceo pay.  therefore, it may be easier to eliminate the reasons for not wanting the job rather than identifying the reasons for wanting the job.

  6. All I know is that George Washington said, that the person who wanted the job was the one most unqualified for it... and that's all I know.

  7. 'cause if they don't do it, someone else will get to be the most powerful man in the world.

  8. the challenge perhaps?

the whole "we don't do these things because they are easy, we do them because they are hard"

  9. One loves the country and the constitution. The other wants to tear it down and build a communist utopia. 2 men with very different dreams.

  10. Bush has been such an awful president with most people thinking he is probably the worst president ever!

Yes whoever takes over has a terrible mess to sort out but just think even if they are totally incompetent at the job they will still be seen as far, far batter than Bush!!

  11. AMEN!!!!!

    God Bless.

  12. Yes, it's an interesting one. A massively important country in a perilous situation. Terrible energy situation (that's global, by the way, kids), an unwinnable war, a mortgage crisis, a virtually bankrupt government...and the terrible secret everyone knows but no-one wants to admit...a social depression. Plus you have a rising empire just waiting in the wings for you to s***w it up so they can take your place by stealth. Who'd want to be responsible for that? You can't even ask for a year's grace because, as we've seen with Congress, people blame you for all of it, despite most of it not being your fault.

Radical change can't happen under such circumstances...the one ingredient that will save the next administration is the one thing that seems to be most lacking...unity. Community. The reaction to this current cesspool is to point fingers...a great nation of people would (and can) look inside themselves, assess the situation honestly and say..."Okay...let's get working and fix this." But there's no sign of that. If anything, there's more fracturing taking place as a result of the slide.

I wouldn't expect the next president to survive beyond 2012, unless they pull a new fear card.

Despite the acrimony, lies, blame and stupidity that goes on, I still have a great deal of faith in America and its people to dig deep whe it matters most. Maybe that faith is misplaced because I have such a romantic attachment to your country, but I honestly believe in America and Americans.
